Facade
I observe people. I might not know everything about them at one go, but I am a good enough judge of how they are. As people - to their self and to others.
We live in a world where it's cool to be cool. You need to have that perfect selfie from that perfect Iphone, wearing that perfect dress with that perfect make-up and with your perfect group of friends (fuck the fact that you'll be bitching about them 2 drinks down), but yeah, perfect. My only question is WHY!
Why do we need to prove that we're perfect. Why can't we be who we are. Full of inhibitions. Fear. Emotions. Happiness. Sadness.Inhibitions. IMPERECTIONS. Why is it so difficult for people to be what we are. The real us.
I attended a party today. Everyone was drinking and sort of having a good time. Yet, I saw everyone under a facade. They WANTED to be someone they were not. Behind their "WITTY" selves, behind the guy who makes fun of everyone else, there's just that face who doesn't want to be known for what they are.
Who do you want to impress? The person opposite you, who is just talking to you maybe in the hopes of fucking around in the future. Or that person who is boasting too much about himself. Or that one who just needs to show he is cool because he is the CENTRE OF ATTRACTION, bro!
Yes. IT'S ALL A FACADE.
It's too much of an artificial world to believe in someone. Who do you trust? Do you really believe what people say about themselves or is it just convenience. Convenience to make them believe that you're one of their own. Maybe it's just how it is now. Maybe, that's what the world has come to. Maybe that's how we have functioned ourselves to be. Maybe that's what we have become. Nothing more than a face, which can be changed, according to the people we are with.
Wonder how long will this last.

ReplyDeleteLoved what you wrote. People just trying to fit in is what I see in these gatherings, people looking for a place where they belong. If it is easier to fit in by wearing good clothes and having a cool phone, they do that. Kind of like praying to a god everyone else does even though you know nothing of that sort exists.
